Step 3: Purchase ETH (Coinbase)

1. Get started with MetaMask

Now that you have your wallet set up, let’s navigate through it together.

On the left tab, you can find your assets. On the right, you can view your transaction history. If you hit the “Portfolio site” link in the center, you’ll be taken to the expanded, more detailed version of the dApp.

2. Buy cryptocurrency

You’ll be redirected to the Coinbase Website. When you create an account, you’ll need your email address and mobile number to set up a two-step verification process.

Make sure to use your actual personal details (you may be required to upload an image of your ID to prove your identity).

After you have verified your identity, go ahead and add a payment method.

Select the credit/debit card option and add your details. Once your card is added, let’s buy some crypto.

Hit “Buy & Sell” at the top of the screen, enter the amount you wish to buy and review your payment.

Once you have created a Coinbase account, you can also authorize and link your MetaMask so that you don’t have to open external windows every time.
